Origin
Although its publication date in English is unknown, “If You’re Happy and You Know It” is believed to originate from a Latvian folk song. The tune resembles the song Molodejnaya, written for the Soviet film Volga-Volga(1938) by Isaak Dunayevsky. The rhyme commonly continues with additional, varying verses.
